"The world looks to the priest, because it looks to Jesus!
Pope John Paul II

Dear Fathers, Brothers and Sisters,

Season of Advent: “Expergiscere, homo:  quia pro te Deus factus est homo - Wake up, O man! For your sake God became man” (St. Augustine, Sermo, 185). With the Christmas celebrations now at hand our hearts brimming with the joy that comes from this knowledge that God became man for our sake. Christmas is a feast of light and peace; it is a day of inner wonder and joy that expands throughout the universe, because "God became man". From the humble manger of Bethlehem the Son of God invites all of us to be reborn to live eternally with him. But before that he invites us the whole of humanity to be united to face the common threat of terrorism, poverty, hunger and disease. Our Christmas Celebrations should highlight the birth of Jesus for our redemption, and also be not extravagant and worldly. The spirit of Jesus born in the manger should be inculcated, and the poor and less privileged should have priority in our celebrations.

Children’s Fest on 15th Nov. was a great success. Children from the missions realized that they are not few but belong to large community of Catholic Children. All the children enjoyed various items of the day. Next year we hope to have such program for a longer period for better results. Thanks to all who made it possible to happen. Some more schools will be pooled in.
40 Hour Adoration and the Feast of Christ the King were also better organized. The number of faithful who participated in the Adoration, and later the Mass and the Eucharistic Procession was larger this year compared to previous years. Thanks to all for your special interest in this annual feature.

1st death anniversary of Rev. Fr. John Anthony our former V.G. falls on 8th December. We will have a Mass for his Soul at S.F.S. Cathedral at 6.15 p.m. All are invited for this Mass.
